As a child, I was ever curious about art and design, both man-made and in nature. To my way of thinking, everything in the world no matter how complex is always made up of simple structures. Part of what defines art for me was always the challenge of simplicity in design as well as construction. Building art simply, I used few and the most basic tools, which allowed me to form a connection and listen to, the materials I worked with. Art became a conversation.

Jeff Hackney Design features sculptures in steel, concrete, wood, and bronze created from 2007-2019. A few selections of these sculptures are shown on the Art page. Photography is representative of the Pacific Northwest 2021-current.
Jeff's works have been collected in private and public collections across the United States, Brazil, and have been purchased for the permanent art collections of municipalities, and private public partnerships including: the Arts and Science Council and Charlotte-Mecklinburg County, NC; the Sandy Springs Conservancy and the city of Sandy Springs, Ga; the city of Wilmington, NC; the city of Burlington, NC; the city of Mebane, NC; Alamance County, NC; and King University in Bristol, Tennessee.
